Support Healthy Prostate Function
Are you experiencing one or more of the following symptoms?
- Frequently waking up at night to urinate
- Low sex drive or performance difficulties
- Frequent or sudden urges to urinate
- Weak urine stream
- Post-urination dribbling
- Need to strain or stress to urinate
- Difficulty starting to urinate
- Inability to fully empty your bladder
- Pain or burning during urination
If so, the problem is most likely your prostate. The prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system, which makes and stores a component of semen. It is located in the pelvis under the bladder and in front of the rectum. The prostate is a walnut-sized gland that surrounds the urethra, the tube that empties urine from the bladder. Because of the prostate’s location, the flow of urine can be slowed or even stopped if the prostate grows too large. Prostate Support™ was formulated to support a healthy prostate and is GUARANTEED TO WORK.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (or BPH) is the gradual enlargement of the prostate, which occurs in most men as they age. BPH is not cancer, but it can cause many of the same symptoms as prostate cancer. Although BPH may not be a threat to life, it may require treatment to relieve symptoms. BPH is very common, affecting over 10 million American men; that includes half of all men over the age of 50 and nearly 80% of men over the age of 70.
The reason the prostate starts to enlarge is not specifically known, but it is thought to be related to the effect of male hormones, including testosterone, on the aging gland. Family history of prostate enlargement can also increase the odds of developing BPH.
So What Can You Do About BPH?
- MAKE SURE YOU EAT RIGHT
Eat Your Veggies. Eating three or more servings a day of cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli and cabbage, can reduce your risk by as much as 40%.
Eat Your Tomatoes. Early studies show that lycopene, found in tomatoes, can reduce the risk and slow the growth of prostate cancer.
Eat Your Soy. Soy-based foods contain isoflavones, which are believed to lower PSA levels in men with early prostate cancer, as well as slow the growth of the cancer. Countries with high soy consumption have far lower levels of prostate cancer than the U.S.
Eat Your Mushrooms. Mushrooms are a great source of selenium. Studies have shown that men who regularly take selenium have half the risk of developing prostate cancer than those who have not had a regular intake of selenium.
Take Vitamin E. A massive study is underway to confirm that Vitamin E supplements can reduce prostate cancer risk by over a third.
Eat Your Fruits. Along with antioxidants, fruits contain fructose, a key player in the ability to process Vitamin D, which is a major prostate cancer fighter.
Drink coffee. A new study shows that coffee is the biggest source of cancer-fighting antioxidants, with 1,299 mg daily for the average coffee-drinking, American adult.
Drink Your Tea. Green Tea is rich in polyphenols, believed to slow the growth of cancer.
- LOWER YOUR CHOLESTEROL
Research shows high cholesterol levels are strongly associated with advanced prostate cancer. The “western” diet, which is high in the type of fat found in meat and dairy products, is also strongly associated with higher cancer rates — for instance, eating red meat five times a week doubles your risk of prostate cancer. Omega-3 Fatty Acids, found in fatty fish like Salmon, increase your “good” cholesterol and may actually help prevent cancer. Check out Natural Health Mix’s Cholesterol Support™ for more details.
- GET SOME SUN
Sunlight is key to processing Vitamin D. Men with increased levels of Vitamin D may have as much as 45% reduction in the risk of prostate cancer. Calcium actually lowers Vitamin D levels in the body; high levels of calcium are associated with a higher risk of prostate cancer. So, watch your calcium consumption, eat fruit, and get plenty of sunshine.
- TAKE Prostate Support™ TWICE A DAY
Prostate Support™ Formula from Cavit Sciences, Inc.
Provides a Dozen Natural Ingredients to Support Prostate Health Including:
Vitamin E: Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that supports a healthy prostate and blocks the free radicals, which can contribute to prostate cancer. Cell culture, as well as animal studies, indicates that Vitamin E on its own — and particularly when used in combination with other natural supplements — may prevent prostate cancer. Lab investigators speculate that this protection is due to the vitamin’s antioxidant activity and suppression of a man’s testosterone level. In addition, there is data from a large clinical trial (of more than 5,000 men) to support the notion that Vitamin E gives an added power boost to other supplements, including Vitamin C, beta-carotene, selenium, and zinc.
Zinc: Zinc is another powerful antioxidant that supports a healthy prostate and blocks the free radicals, which can contribute to prostate cancer. Zinc is the most important mineral in promoting good prostate health. It inhibits the enzyme prolactin. Zinc helps in shrinking an enlarged prostate, giving you free-flowing, pain-free urination. It also has anti-bacterial effects, which protect against urinal and bladder infection.
Selenium: This is a third powerful antioxidant that supports a healthy prostate and blocks the free radicals, which can contribute to prostate cancer. Several studies have shown that the incidence of and mortality from many cancers are higher in geographical areas where the selenium content of forage crops is low. Now, an impressive group of researchers from more than half a dozen universities in the United States report that selenium supplementation helps prevent cancer. The Nutritional Prevention of Cancer Study Group found that the cancer mortality was cut in half in a group of patients who supplemented with selenium. The double-blind, randomized, placebo- controlled cancer prevention trial involved 1,312 patients aged 18 to 80 years (75% males) who had previously been diagnosed with basal or squamous cell carcinomas of the skin.
Green Tea: (EPIGALLOCATECHIN) The most widely known ingredient in Prostate Support™ is epigallocatechin (EGCG), more commonly called green tea. Made from the dried leaves of an evergreen shrub native to Asia, green tea has taken the western world by storm in recent years. We do not fully understand how or why, but the polyphenols in green tea seems to make cancer cells sluggish. Under the influence of polyphenols, the cancer cells appear to stop dividing, and they even self-destruct. A study of men with HGPIN found that men taking green tea supplements developed prostate cancer at a far lower rate than those who did not. Polyphenols are also found in red wine and pomegranate juice.
Saw Palmetto: This is a natural herb, which has been clinically shown to reduce the size of the prostate and decrease the urinary symptoms associated with BPH. Saw palmetto is an herb that has been shown in clinical studies to have an important role in maintaining a healthy prostate. Saw palmetto is not the only herb that has an influence on the prostate gland, but it does appear that urinary symptoms resulting from mild-to-moderate prostate enlargement respond more readily to saw palmetto than symptoms that are due to severe enlargement. It typically takes several weeks, or possibly several months, for the effects of saw palmetto and other herbs to be fully appreciated.
Pumpkin seed: Pumpkin seed is clinically shown to reduce the frequency of urination, nighttime urination and symptoms associated with incomplete emptying of bladder. Pumpkin seeds are considered an enlarged prostate treatment because research has shown the positive result in reducing symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), especially when combined with saw palmetto. It is thought that pumpkin seeds are a good enlarged prostate treatment because of the zinc, free fatty acid, or plant sterol content.
Pygeum bark extract: This is from the bark of a tree indigenous to tropical and sub-tropical Africa. It decreases frequency of nighttime urination, permits more complete emptying of the bladder, and increases peak urine flow by about 23%. Chemical analysis and pharmacological studies indicate that the lipophilic extract of pygeum bark has three categories of active constituents. The phytosterols, including beta-sitosterol, have anti-inflammatory effects by interfering with the formation of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins that tend to accumulate in the prostate of men with BPH. The pentacyclic terpenes have an anti-edema or decongesting effect. The ferulic esters are constituents that reduce levels of the hormone prolactin and also block cholesterol in the prostate. Prolactin increases uptake of testosterone in the prostate, and cholesterol increases binding sites for testosterone and its more active form, dihydrotestosterone.
Nettle root extract: Nettle root extract acts to shrink the size of the prostate and increase urinary output. When it comes to men’s prostate health, nettle root extract has been one of the natural ingredients that herbalists and holistic practitioners have relied upon for many generations. Nettle root consists of the dried or fresh roots of Urtica dioica or Urtica urens. Germany’s Commission E and ESCOP recommend nettle root specifically for relieving urinary disorders associated with BPH.
Ginger root: Ginger root has powerful anti-inflammatory effects, helps reduce the signs and symptoms of BPH, reduces the risk of developing prostate cancer, and may reduce symptoms associated with impotence. With its anti-toxin powers, ginger root helps to cleanse and strengthen the prostate while relieving the frequent urges to urinate.
Maca root: This decreases symptoms of BPH and may improve sexual function. For centuries, Maca root has been used in South America as a sexual and endurance enhancer, as well as to stimulate libido. It is also well known for its benefits to menopausal women using this supplement rather than hormone replacement therapy. The product seems to have a pronounced regulatory effect on the endocrine system.
L-Arginine: L-Arginine is an amino acid, which has been shown to improve sexual function. L-Arginine is an essential amino acid, which is said to bolster the immune system and increase human growth hormones. L-Arginine also increases the amount of nitric oxide in the body, which helps dilate blood vessels, resulting in an erection.
Natural Health Mix encourages you to get screened to make sure you do not have prostate cancer or HGPIN.
Early diagnosis of prostate cancer increases your odds of survival to nearly 100%, but screening can also catch a pre-cancerous condition called HGPIN. Early diagnosis allows you to take action to slow or possibly even prevent pre-cancerous cells from becoming cancer.
Men over 50 should be screened every year. African-American men and those with a family history of the disease should start at age 40 or 45. Ask your doctor for more information.
